Green resources to check out

In a quest to increase my understanding of environmental issues and what I can do to be more environmentally conscious, I’ve been on a hunt for websites and information focused on the environment. Here are a couple of new sites I’ve come across: environmentalgraffiti.com – This site resembles a delicious.com or reddit.com site with many articles and resources focused on everything environmental. I readily admit, I’ve barely scratched the surface. Articles and content is submitted by users and definitely worth checking out. (Users are by invitation.) onegreenglobe.com – This is a directory that lists resources and services on everything green. There are currently just under 9,000 listings within 138 categories. There’s so much on this site, it will take some time to check it out, but definitely worth it. Here are sites that you may already know about, but I love them, and so, had to mention them here:

Apple’s awesome features coming with iOS 5 and OS X Lion

At today’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) Apple made a ton of announcements for both iOS devices with iOS 5 and OS X Lion…oh yeah, and then there’s iCloud.

There are so many new features for both iOS 5 which is expected for release in the fall, while OS X Lion’s release is slated for July, that I’d be crazy to try. So, I won’t. I’ll give you the links so you can check everything out yourself.

Apple iOS 5 200 features that will be coming out in the fall for iPads, iPhones and iPod touch.

Be sure to check out: iMessaging, Twitter (will love this), notifications, Reminders (so I don’t forget…), lock screen camera use (yay), PC free, Safari and more.

Mac OS X 250+ New features coming in July.

What am I looking forward to? AutoSave, new features in Finder helping me to find my lost files easier, full-screen apps, Launchpad, new Mail, Mission Control (I often have a lot of apps running.), Preview (can easily add signature to PDF documents, Resume (remembering where I left off after shutdown), Screen Sharing, and more.

An updated SkyGrid app makes all the difference

I’ve mentioned in previous posts that I use the SkyGrid iPad app. Well, I liked the app before, but since the last update on May 17, it’s even better than before.

Before the update I slowed down on my use of SkyGrid because it was difficult for me to share articles either with a browser link or using social media. Now, with the update, there are improvements all around

You can pretty much follow anything including Facebook, Twitter, news, weather, etc.
Easy to share with integrated social media.
Easy browsing within SkyGrid and then you can open the article in Safari on the iPad if you want.

These are all great features because what I tend to do now is browse the news on SkyGrid and tweet any good news or stories quickly and easily.

If you’re looking for a really functional news aggregator or an app to customize so that you can find info on what you’re interested in, SkyGrid is definitely a good choice.

It’s also available for the iPhone.

Price: Free.
